The Problem

Employees who operate in a fast-paced environment may eventually become exhausted and unmotivated. People may feel under pressure to violate HIPAA rules due to an overwhelming workload or a lack of knowledge. Whatever the reason, HIPAA infractions can end up costing businesses a lot of money in fines.

The Solution

I developed interactive eLearning that enables workers to make judgments about their conduct at work in a risk-free setting. Additionally, this training will demonstrate to managers and supervisors the most likely errors that workers make. Employees will be able to avoid making those errors in the actual world by seeing these outcomes and practicing the appropriate behaviors.

The Process

After researching the topic and speaking with healthcare professionals. I developed the design document defining the purpose, audience, training recommendations, deliverables, and topics that will be covered based on objectives. This project was the result of a continuous process that involved analysis and iteration.

I was able to create a refined final version of this product with the help of user testing and ongoing mentor feedback. I designed and developed this eLearning experience. I created the design document and storyboard, designed visual mockups, developed the Alpha and Beta versions, and then created the final, Gold, product.

The storyboard featured a layout of the integrated slides, visual display, text, animation and narration in one document to demonstrate how all the components of eLearning work together.

The Result

The eLearning module was well-received by the instructional design community. I’ve received great feedback on the visual design, flow, engagement of the content and clean, approachable style.

I now have a better understanding of the entire instructional design process because of this project. I gained knowledge on how to plan, create, and improve learning activities that were interactive and targeted actual performance issues.

I have learned during the creation phase how important every detail counts in the learning process. The details significantly differentiate between an average encounter and one that is engaging. With the help of the appropriate tools, which I was able to practice using on this project, I was able to produce a neat, reliable, and interesting product. I now possess a strong command of the tools required to create professional and high-quality eLearning, but there is always opportunity for development and improvement.
